Towel Craze

As it is with having Mother's Day, Teacher gifts, and Graduation gifts all within a few weeks, I have done quite a few towels!  Aren't these cute?! . . .

Thanks to Katie for taking pictures of these Williams-Sonoma kitchen towels we did for all of her daughters' teachers at school {I completely forgot to do my usual photo session at the end of the day when I finished them!} . . .

Katie and I just worked together to pick fun/funky fabrics for these crosses rather than thinking of what might match kitchens we'd never seen.  I love the way they turned out!

I've always used these Williams-Sonoma towels for my customers.  They are great towels!

And this makes an adorable {and practical!} $15 gift!  We also discussed doing an applique initial instead of a cross, which would also be a very cute way to go.

As for graduation gifts, I did quite a few beach towels . . .

{Very cute towels from Target!}
This one was actually a birthday gift for a tween . . .

And I also did quite a few bath towels for graduation . . .
In the midst of all of those other towels, why not throw in a few for a friend's lakehouse?! . . .

New font I recently aquired -- Fishtails.  Great for little boys or for joint grown up initials! {Sewing note for my sewing friends -- I did have to go over these initials twice with this font on the towels to get it full and thick looking} . . .
It has been a towel craze {and I didn't even get pictures of them all}!  Now I've got a bunch of other dresses, shirts, and baby things to get back to!

Kelly's Kids Coordinates {Spring 2012}

As promised, here are all of the projects I did that were Kelly's Kids items or items to match a Kelly's Kids piece.  I love this new style they came out with this year {vintage romper} . . .
Made these sea creature monag shirts to coordinate with these "under the sea" collection bubble shorts . . .
I also got the same bubble shorts for Evynne and made this ice cream cone to go with them . . .

You may remember I mentioned the ice cream cone applique being a good one when you only have small swatches of fabric to work with!  There are a few in this post :)

This is the Kelly's Kids top I bought for Evynne to wear with the same shorts above.  I just added the orange "E".  It's gonna serve double duty for a certain athletic team in the Fall! . . .

This one is to match bubble shorts out of the turquoise polka dot fabric . . .
And to match capris that are the pink stripe with the turquoise dot ruffle . . .
Simple red to match last year's white with red dot capris . . .

This matches those same white/red dot capris as well as this year's red/white stripe bermuda shorts . . .
My sister bought this good looking polo for my nephew to go with some linen shorts.  We added the "E" in the linen color . . .

This is the MAIN thing Evynne wanted from this season's catalog . . .

I love putting "E's" on things as opposed to all three initials so they can be sold or used by others.   I gave Evynne the option on this dress though {since I know at least two girls get to wear it even if I put initials on it!}, but she just wanted an "E".  I think it's adorable!

I think this swimsuit is from last year and then we just did the Target cover up to match . . .

And last, some flip flops on a sleeveless monag frill shirt to match the madras bubble shorts {fabric used for flowers} . . .
And that wraps it up for this season!  Already looking forward to seeing what's to come in the Fall!

more for mine

It's beach towel time!  I love to hunt towels for good prices at Target and Walmart.  Each store usually comes out with a basic towel in the $5-$7 range each year.  I found this one at Target and it comes in a variety of colors for $7 {regular price -- but they do go on sale from time to time!} I thought it would make the perfect gift for Evynne's ballet student helper . . .

For her ballet teacher, I made this kitchen towel to go along with an Edgar's gift card . . .
And since I'm pretty caught up on my customer orders right now, I had time to do a few things for my own.  Grandmomma made this skirt for Evynne {with fabric I got at Hobby Lobby} and I wanted a top that would go into the fall.  I thought this turned out cute . . .

I've always loved this little topiary, but I've never done it before.

I got these cute little pants for a great price at a Hollywood Baby sample sale a couple of years ago.  Since there is no alligator applique that really matches the alligator on the pants, I decided to just go simple . . .

Funny story.  I ran out of the green thread after the entire outside of the "e" was stitched and about half of the inside was done.  After thinking about it, I decided to just use a very similar green and go over/finish the inside of the "e" with it.  I knew the pink stitching was going on top and that would help mask the difference in color.  I don't think anyone will ever notice!  {I'm just glad it happened on something for one of my own because I never would've risked it on a customer order!}

And last up for my girls, a couple of coordinating Hannah Kate tops mom and I found at an overstock sale . . .

Mom made sweet light pink shorts to go with these.

Just had to throw in these two that I did for Cooper.  From the picture on Bunnycup Embroidery's website, you never would know this police car could turn out so cute.  But it did . . .
And I believe this one is Applique Market.  Very cute! . . .
I promise the Kelly's Kids coordinates post is still coming.  I just have a couple more things to do to add to it before I post it!
