new fabric, new font, new designs

Well, I've bought some more new fabrics.  I don't always post pictures when I do this, but this time, I remembered!  I bought this new grape/lime chevron fabric with a specific project in mind {you'll see below} . . .
  Chevrons seem to be all the rage this season.  So, I also bought this one for a project I have in the works . . .
Small Chevron - Gray-
Then, I can just NEVER resist all of the adorable Christmas stuff out there.  I bought these four, but almost all of them could be used for non-Christmas things too . . .
And as football season is fast approaching, I bought these two . . .
The fabric on the right looks like actual football material.  Very cute for football appliques!  And there ARE a bunch of cute fabrics in other team colors that I am happy to buy, but I don't want to get them until  I know I'll use them.  For now, I got the navy/orange polka dot to go on Elly's orange dress that will be the opposite of this one for Evynne . . .
This cheerleader is a new design I bought from Planet Applique.  I have lots of their designs, but unfortunately, they don't let you copy and paste them so none of them are really shown on my design pages.  Feel free to check out their site and ask about any of their designs though!
I also used my new font "Rascal" on these next two things.  SO cute . . .
But before we get to the long sleeved weather, Eyvnne will be wearing this on gamedays . . .
Evynne picked these "Auburn" fabrics for Grandmomma to make her a skirt.  I think it makes a pretty cute little outfit!

This is a pocket for a jonjon a friend is making . . .

And as Fall approaches, we are starting to think Halloween, too!  This if what my nephew requested . . .
The monster {also from Planet Applique}.  And as you can see, this is the project I purchased the grape/lime chevron fabric for . . .
And last, but not least, here is the whole alphabet in my new font Rascal . . .

Lots of fun, new things happening at Sew Personal!

dresses galore

I have pictures of dresses from back in June up until this week that I have not yet posted.  So, here goes.  I did these for my girls for 4th of July/Summer . . .
Have I mentioned I'm obsessed with this ribbon ricrac trim?!  Pretty sure I have.

This one was for a customer/friend.
And again for my girls . . .
I opted for a different trim on these.  I can't have all the monag dresses looking the same :)  However, I didn't notice until Elly's dress was finished that I had cut out the butterfly fabric in the middle of the "e" when I trimmed away the gingham.  Just wasn't thinking.
After a short debate in my head, I decided to purposefully "mess up" Evynne's so maybe, just maybe, it would look like it was supposed to be that way.  Kinda regret that.  Turns out it is more obvious on the lavender.  Oh well.  Lesson learned.
This cutie was a hand-me-down Hollywood Baby that had a monogram on it . . .
My mother-in-law had picked out the monogram {bless her!}, but it had left some holes.  This layered flower {which I L.O.V.E.} covered it all perfectly!
We ordered turquoise dresses from monag back in early spring and they were backorderd and basically, never came.  So we re-ordered the turquiose in the empire style dress and finally received them in June.  This one was for a customer . . .
I'm all about some red and turquoise if you didn't already know.
This was for another friend/customer, matching for siblings . . .

Since my girls just didn't really need any more summer clothes by the time these dresses came, I decided to save Evynne's for a back-to-school dress.  I knew I wanted to do red and turquoise, but instead of the appple I had in mind, Evynne wanted this design . . .
And it was perfect because she was thrilled to wear it.
However, Elly still got the original apple plan . . .
She won't start until after labor day though.
And since I haven't gotten crazy-busy with Fall stuff yet, I've been trying to stay on top of things.  I did some Kelly's Kids dresses for a friend from this season's collection . . .

Aren't they sweet?!!!  Love me some Kelly's Kids.

And another Hollywood Baby hand-me-down . . .
I hate the way brown photographs with my el-cheapo camera.  Well, it's not really a cheap camera, it's just not the fancy one I wish I had :)  If it were, you'd be able to tell that this dress is brown and pink.  And it's very cute!

bags and baby

I've done a lot of bags recently.  First being, a backpack for my own Kindergartener . . .

And then I got to do all of these for a sweet lady in my church and some of her family members . . .
{Ignore that most of the bags are wet from me trying to get the center marks off!}
I think she got these bags on sale at the Christmas Tree Shops for $1.99 each!!!  I just did the wording, the embroidered designs were already on the bags.
And I did bright pink and turquoise bags for my girls to have as church bags, but apparently didn't take a picture.  They're already dirty now so a picture at this point wouldn't even do them justice. However, I did take a picture of this one I did for one of Evynne's friend's birthday . . .
Again, forgot to take my own pictures, but enjoy some iphone photos of these cute bags . . .
Also from Christmas Tree Shops for $5.99 and $3.99, I believe.  And they are good, sturdy bags.  Not to mention, easy to monogram!
And today we celebrated the upcoming arrival of a friend's first baby.  They did not find out what it is so I had the challenge pleasure of coming up with some cute, gender-neutral pieces! . . .

Since the daddy-to-be is my husband's co-worker as in, they share an office space, we had to do something just to please him . . .
I also just discovered quite a few pictures I haven't posted yet so there will be more coming soon!

OH, and take note, I've been working on updating my applique design pages!  I finally got the embroidery fonts page redone and now you can view all of my fonts.  YAY! {I'm still working on the applique fonts page.}

NEW! Jumbo Embroidery Font {Elegant}

I've had several customers {including my own mom!} ask about monogramming shower curtains.  I have the capability of doing very large designs, but I wasn't comfortable with stitching a letter {or 3-letter monogram} that large with the fonts I had.  I'm happy to say, I just bought an alphabet specifically designed to be stitched in 10"-11.5" letters!  And it is really pretty.  {Thank you applique corner!}

It came with lots of embellishments as well.  Isn't their sample pretty?!  Love the little flower spray embellishment.  This is what all of the letters look like . . .

And an example of a 3-letter monogram with some of the embellishments . . .
Elegant Monogram Font
I just think it's so pretty!  I'm getting visions of throw pillows, little girls' dresses, shower curtains, blankets, towels, and all kinds of home decor goodies!  Here is the whole set I purchased . . .
Elegant Embroidery Collection
It starts as small as 1.5" letters and goes up to 11.5".  Of course the large letter monogram will cost more than the typical monogram, but I'm not sure just yet what the charge will be.  I need to explore it a little more first!  Bring on the big projects!  I can't wait to try it out!

I need to update my designs in a major way.  I have many that are not posted on the pages here on the blog.  Just so little time - so many designs, but hopefully someday it will all get updated!  Here are a few others I just purchased from applique corner . . .
