it's been almost a month!

I can't believe almost a month has past since I last posted photos!  It's been a busy month with lots of sickness at our house, unfortunately.  Hopefully, we can stay well for awhile now!  My big girl turned 6 on October 18th and this is what she designed for her birthday shirt . . .
She wanted a six, "almost as big as the shirt with a girl up top".  My, my.  High maintenance!  Boys, beware.  She did look cute in it though with her turquoise Kelly's Kids tutu skirt.
I managed to squeeze in a couple of other projects for my own, but the "to do" stack is still huge!  This was Evynne's three years ago and had just a green "E" on it.  The Gymboree shirts, however, do not do great with monograms I've learned and several holes had formed around the "E".  So, I covered it up with this and we're good to go! . . .
Since it was the week before we were heading to Auburn for the game, I HAD to make time to do Elly's dress to match Evynne's I posted awhile back . . .
Evynne also designed this dress almost entirely.  She picked the design and fabrics and wanted "war eagle on it".  I picked the font and hair fabric.  That's about it.
When I ordered the orange and blue dresses from Chez Ami's daily dealie, a friend of mine ordered this brown one for her older daughter . . .
The big girls are all about the tiger stripes and peace signs!  I love how this uncoventional turkey turned out too . . .
It's fun to shake things up every now and then :)
This was a customer's consignment purchase that needed a little something . . .
She liked the patch like this in my previous post so this time, we did it intentionally!
I always love this layered flower . . .

I have a boy post coming soon and hope to finish up the Kelly's Kids Fall/Winter 2012 coordinates soon and post that as well!

i have been sewing

I thought I'd be able to blog more regularly, but alas, life is SOOOO busy.  So, here are a few projects I've done over the past couple of weeks . . .
I heart this.
This choo choo is always so precious for little boys!
Can't get enough owls!!! Thank you applique cafe for coming out with yet another new one this Fall!
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.  This shirt was supposed to be just the plain white square scalloped patch with turquoise monogram.  Well, the machine -- being a machine -- decided to jump around on me a bit.  So the monogram was not in the center of the patch.  UGH.  By using this ribbon ricrac trim, I was able to disguise the fact that it was off-center and still come out with a cute end-result.  I may even do it on purpose in the future :)
Two dresses for a friend at church.  Above is a J.Khaki from Belk and below is from Target.  Funny how a single letter adds so much cuteness!
I've been dying to use my new Specs font for my girls.  This shirt was the perfect opportunity because the floral cords {Orient Expressed} were so busy, the top just needed to be simple.  I LOVE this font! . . .
By the way, now that Evynne is a smart Kindergartener, she insists that her name always start with a capital letter -- no more cutesy lowercase e's for her {not that I put her name on much anyway}!!!
This has to be one of my all-time favorite gifts to give a new baby.  They look so sweet in these little monogrammed caps!  I am so thankful that the new fabric store right down from my house has started carrying good quality pink and blue infant-sized caps so I can run and pick one up whenever I need it!
If you need one for a gift, they are $14 {which includes the monogram!}  Oh, and this is also the new Specs font.  SO many more things to do and a Fall Kelly's Kids post will come eventually!

never posted

Summer was a slower time of sewing and since it was more sporadic, I didn't post pictures on the blog as often.  I realized I never posted all of these pictures and I like to document all of my projects here, so here goes . . .
Evynne really wanted these flip flops so I made this shirt go with turquoise gingham capris.
A few for friends . . .

A few for one of my "Ethan" customers :) . . .

A few for sweet Cooper . . .
Lovin' the many uses of the mini embroidery designs!

Thought this one turned out super-cute to go with brown gingham shorts.

I'm in full swing with fall stuff now.  Just finished spiders for my girls and am getting pretty busy with orders.  Good busy, not stressful busy.  You'll be seeing me here more regularly again now.
